The University Library opened to students on the 12th of March, 2008 at the present temporary location. The University library at its inception was managed by Mr Babatunde Y.O, a staff of the University. The Library was more of a reading room opened to users between the hours of 8am and 4pm during the week days.
Staff: Mr Y.O Babatunde was the pioneer staff that started library operations. A non-librarian, Mr Babatunde tried his best to see to the procurement and organization of library resources.
Dr Bello, a principal librarian came on a year sabbatical leave. He worked in the library between Nov, 2008 and October 2009. As a professional librarian, Dr Bello initiated few basic service units and embarked on rigorous book acquisition. At the exit of Dr Bello, Mr Wasiu Lawal came again on sabbatical leave. Mr Lawal stay was extended as Associate Senior Librarian between October 2010 and Sept 2012. The effort of these professionals on sabbatical at one time or the other was supported by Corpers.
The first permanent Librarian was appointed in Nov. 2009. He is Mr A.M Adegbore. He worked assiduously and tried to put up our e-library until December 2012 when he left the university. Mrs H.o Amuda and Mr S.F Bakrin came in April & July 2012 respectively.
The first substantive and pioneer University Librarian assumed duty in September, 2012. He is Dr Belau Olatunde Gbadamosi. The Library is not adequately staffed. There is the need to employ more academic Librarians, Library Officers and Library Assistants.
However, Corp Members from NYSC and IT Students were posted regularly to work in the Library during this period.
